We were very lucky to be offered a discounted trial of Hello Fresh Recipes last week. Offers like these always come in handy as we do love a freebie! (who doesn’t).
Hello fresh meals are recipes delivered to your door, with everything you need to create a meal by following the included recipe which is printed in full colour on an A4 card.
We duly chose our meal plan (5 meals for 2 people) and eagerly awaited the nice man from DPD to deliver our prepacked groceries!
To make things interesting we now do the vast majority of our cooking in the 9 in 1 Ninja Foodi Max. This means we very rarely use our hob or main oven. This meant we needed to adapt the step by step hello fresh meal plans into a ninja friendly method.
It has worked out really well (thankfully!) and I’ve listed below the five meals we chose and how we managed to convert them for the Ninja Foodi.
Meal ONE
Herby Burgers with potato wedges and chimichurri tomato salad
This was easy to adapt to the ninja as I simply prepared and seasoned the wedges, couple of sprays with vegetable oil and air-fryed at 190 degrees for 20 minutes, giving it a shake a couple of times during cooking. Once cooked lift out the frying basket and put to one side. Make the burgers, air-fry for 15 minutes, turn and air-fry another 5 minutes (no need to add any oil. I also treated myself to some frozen onion rings which I popped into the ninja when there was about 8 minutes cooking time left 😉
While the burgers were cooking I prepared the salad (I did throw in a handful of mixed salad to brighten it up a bit!
Once the burgers were cooked through, Remove from the ninja, pop the frying basket back in to give the wedges a blast at 210 degrees while I toasted the burger buns. at this point everything is ready to be plated up, the end result was amazing and made a very nice meal indeed!
