Friday night and fancied a treat so made our way to Whitby’s Fish and Chip restaurant in Doncaster (https://www.whitbysrestaurant.co.uk/
They have a large easy to access car park to the rear of the restaurant, just off Zetland road directly opposite the entrance to wickes!
Parked the car and walked round to the entrance and were surprised at how busy the place was, which is a testament to how good the food is! We were offered a booth and grabbed the menu. We both opted for the battered cod and chips with garden peas and placed our order with the waiter (Lewis).
We didn’t have too long to wait for our meals and it’s true to say the food looked fabulous and tasted as good as it looked too. Crispy batter, flaky fish, perfectly cooked chips rounded off with garden peas, it was truly faultless!

Time for dessert and although Mrs Surfer fancied the knickerbocker glory from the menu she decided it was too cold for that and opted for one of her favourite puddings, homemade rice pudding with jam and she loved it 😀

I opted for the baked apple crumble with custard which was also very tasty and rounded off a lovely meal.

All in all we had a great meal and will definitely be returning, I would say it’s not the cheapest of venues but the quality of the food and the great level of service really made it good value!
