We used the ample sunshine this morning to do some baking (Fruit Scones powered by sunshine!) using the Ninja Foodi Max.
Here’s a simple recipe and method for home made fruit scones, give it a go and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results!
FRUIT SCONES INGREDIENTS
350 grams self raising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
85 grams butter cut into cubes (margarine works too!)
3 teaspoons caster sugar
175 millilitres milk (add slightly more if needed)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (we currently cant get any due to lockdown so have managed without).
100 grams sultanas (or mixed fruit if you prefer).
Beaten egg or milk to glaze.
METHOD
Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix to form a fair stiff scone dough (I made it easier by using a food processor).
Turn out onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth then roll or pat out until 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick and cut into rounds with round cutter, (I used a glass, you should only get 8 to 10 Fruit Scones out of the dough).

Put 4 or 5 in the ninja basket and bake on 190 for 15 minutes place on a rack to cool and repeat for remaining.

Tried these scones as a first time foodi user, came out excellent, many thanks for a great recipe.
Made these today, used a smaller cutter and they are lovely. Means I have to have a couple though because they’re smaller. That’s my excuse anyway!
Just had these scones warm with jam and cream they turned out light and fluffy.
Just time user
I’m a new air fryer user so I have followed the recipe and instructions and have perfect scones.
Made these scones but without vanilla essence and used currants, they were really lovely light and fluffy: will definitely make more!
Did you bake them on the rack ? If you did , did you grease the rack
Do you have to heat the ninja first? Or is it25 mind from going in cold? New to this and any help appreciated. Thank you.
Just tried this recipe…perfect thank you.
I used more sugar. Is 3 TEAspoons enough. Still worked brilliantly. Best scones I’ve ever made
