On Saturday morning we were searching for a “new to us” breakfast location while on our way back from a hospital appointment. As we drove through Doncaster we spotted The Wheatley Hotel, on Thorne Road, Doncaster and pulled into the car park to check availability!

Luck was with us as on Saturdays they serve breakfast from 8 am until 12pm. A quick browse of the menu and we both opted for a Full English which includes 2 Rashers of Bacon, 2 Sausages, 2 Eggs, (Fried, Scrambled or Poached), Black Pudding, Hash Brown, Baked Beans, Mushrooms and Tomatoes with White or Brown Bread/Toast and a Tea or Coffee for a bargain price of £8.95, we placed our order and paid using contactless payment the girl behind the bar  invited us to take our table explaining that there would be a wait as they were very busy (always a good sign).

Two cups of tea were brought to our table and after a short wait Breakfast was served.

Presentation was really good and the entire Breakfast was really, really good with quality ingredients.  Toast had been forgotten it seems but was quickly delivered to us when we asked for it.

 

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Wheatley Hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to call in again. All the staff were friendly, efficient and attentive and the location is convenient with easy parking too.
